According to the US Digital media news website Paidcontent, Yahoo confirmed in Thursday that the company showed that Bill Wise, vice president of advertising platforms, was about to leave, but it was not clear which external company he would go to in the future.
Weiss was president of right media at the American network Advertising exchange company. During 2007, Yahoo bought right Media for 680 million dollars, and Weiss joined Yahoo. A Yahoo spokeswoman said in Thursday that Weiss would "open a new chapter in his career".
After Weiss's departure, Ramse McGerory (Ramsey mcgrory) will replace Weiss's current position. McGerory is also one of right media's early employees, and he currently serves as vice president of Yahoo North America market. McGerory also worked for DoubleClick, an online advertising agency in the United States.
Right Media founder and former CEO Maik Vollas Mike Walrath left Yahoo last November. Industry insiders say the news that Weiss is about to leave suggests Yahoo is facing a new wave of brain-drain challenges.
