Yahoo is in talks with the online video service provider NDN (News distribution receptacle), the acquisition price is estimated at 300 million U.S. dollars. If the acquisition is reached, it will be MUI's second-largest investment since taking office, the first of which is to buy Tumblr at $1.1 billion trillion.

NDN Company is a well-known video advertising syndicate. Based on a certain advertising model, trusted content providers can distribute multimedia content to a variety of newspapers, news stations and other web publishers in a high-quality location, and profit from advertising. At present, NDN has more than 800 suppliers and more than 4,500 network publishers, distributing video 100,000 each month. According to comscore, NDN is the fourth largest video site in the United States, creating 570 million video browsing a month. Yahoo is the fifth largest, the monthly browsing volume of 380 million.

Yahoo had negotiated a deal with NDN before MUI joined, but no results were reached, according to people familiar with the matter. Recently, under the MUI, the negotiations have been reopened. As we have reported earlier, Yahoo has made a series of moves last year to try to challenge YouTube. The moves include buying lots of streaming startups, integrating the acquired talent into the video team, grabbing YouTube's share-ratio weakness and wooing YouTube's content providers, and this attempt to buy NDN is also an investment in the ability to supply and advertise its content.

Yahoo's acquisition of NDN, it is believed, will help increase the ability to distribute video to new sites and possibly attract more advertisers to collaborate.
