Yahoo has updated iOS apps for iphone and ipod Touch, according to The Verge.
The application of this update, Yahoo added to the original Summly IOS application technology, that is, the use of natural language processing and algorithms. With this technology, Yahoo apps can help users pick out the most important parts of a long news story to provide a better reading experience for their users. This is the first time Yahoo bought summly to incorporate the latter technology into its mobile apps.
In new applications, users can subscribe to favorite story types. In each article, users can also filter their own preferences, to ensure that the content of the application after the present is their favorite. After landing on the desktop side of the Yahoo account, Yahoo will also remember the user's choice of mobile side preferences.
In addition, the application of the article page has changed, showing more visual design effect. On the search feature, Yahoo says it offers better video and image search results.
Currently, this application update applies only to the United States. Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer says it will continue to make Yahoo more mobile. After acquiring Summly, Yahoo has said it will be through Yahoo's mobile experience to let people see the revival of Summly technology, the IOS update should be just the beginning.
