The Yale Beijing Center, set up by Yale University, opened today to provide a cooperative space and knowledge hub for all of its activities in China, the Chinese network of investment October 27. "Yale's history with China is deeper and thicker than any other university in the United States – dating back to the early 19th century. In addition, its teachers and Chinese counterparts in research, education, training and other aspects of a wide range of exchanges and mutual assistance. The Yale Beijing Center is based on the historical connections of this long abyss and formally establishes a physical institution in China. "The opening ceremony will open a series of discussions on major social issues affecting China, the United States and the world, including science and technology, health care, environmental protection, Sino-US relations, asset management, and the role of art in society," he said. The agenda for this meeting is hosted by Yale institutions and academic programs, including the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, the Yale Business and Environment Center, the Yale Conservatory of Music, and the Yale University School of Management. October 27, with the opening of the Centre, the Yale Institute of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the Tsinghua University Environmental College will jointly publish a two-degree program. This academic program will provide Tsinghua students with opportunities to enrich their knowledge of environmental policy and management, while helping Yale students improve their professionalism in key environmental engineering areas. Learning areas include industrial systems, pollution control, sewage treatment, and energy technologies. The project will help students at Yale and Tsinghua establish links with leading environmental researchers and practitioners in the United States and China. On the same day, the senior Executive Leadership Institute at the Yale School of Management will host its Yale CEO Summit, a gathering of top companies, non-profit organizations and government leaders. Participants focused on the theme of the conference "transposition thinking: Sino-US views on trade and cooperation Relations". The Senior Management Leadership Institute will also issue the "Lifetime Leadership Award" to Gao, the former president and chief investment officer of China Investment Corporation, and the legendary leader award to Jiang Jianqing, ICBC's president. Yale institutions and academic programs are actively planning activities in the Beijing Center. For example, staff at the Yale School of Public Health will meet with officials of China's national Food and Drug Administration in December this year to set policy guidelines for the pharmaceutical industry's legislation. In 2015, the Yale Institute of Architecture will hold a large seminar on "Landmarks and Solitude: China's new architecture and urban development model". In addition, the Centre will jointly organize academic activities with the Yale Institute of Forestry and Environment Studies, the Department of Political Science and the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. The academic activities of Yale Law School, Nursing school, Drama school and School of Management are under preparation.
