A week of data recently, Gartner, a market-research firm, has released a forecast that 42% of PCs in the world will use Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system by the end of 2011. 94% of new PCs sold in 2011 will have Windows 7 operating systems installed. Gartner also believes that the Chrome OS, Android, or network operating system will not gain too much market share in the PC sector in the next few years, given the application of compatibility issues. Nor are they likely to shake the position of Microsoft and Windows operating systems on traditional PCs.
