Zhang Yonghong unveiled a new strategy after he took charge of Acer's overall business in China

As a result of its deep losses, Acer has made significant changes since last year, making its own cloud the focus of its future development. Acer has cut its losses in the first quarter of this year as a result of slashing costs and controlling costs. At the same time, Zhang Yonghong, the Acer's internal executive team, officially assumed the chairmanship of Acer China in May this year.

Zhang Yonghong said Acer's new strategy includes three major parts: first, offering low-cost products for the mass consumer and pre-installed Acer's own cloud applications, and secondly, updating the channel strategy, building boutique experience shops in central cities and infiltrating 4-6-tier cities; third, increasing brand promotion.

Zhang Yonghong expects Acer China's business to improve significantly in the next six months to a year. This is mainly because the new products will be more oriented to the mainstream market, there will be more new products to launch. Acer's earnings showed that revenue in China accounted for more than 20% per cent of Acer's overall revenue.
