The following is a transcript:
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, thank the surveying and mapping Society for inviting me to do the report, I think now listen to the above several reports, I think all speak very practical, I want from some of the conceptual and we do some work, with you to report the direction of geographical information technology, some is my personal experience, some is the summary of learning.
I want to talk about three things, the first is the geographical information system, I am here to make a statement, or geo-technology, the 1th I would like to talk about the expansion of social function, the second is the trend of technological development, the third want to talk about the cloud computing environment in the GIS. Also talk about some of the work we do.
The social function of GIS is changing with the development of technology, in fact, we often talk about the actual demand or technology innovation, who is in the promotion of geographical information technology development, is a great degree of technological innovation, good things may not be in our market, because the good things will lead the market. At the same time the market has a certain basis to promote this technology, it is very interesting. I have seen many aspects of GIS things, in fact, mainly two aspects, one is geographical analysis technology, the other is visualization technology. Your vast database is all for the rapid visualization, basically these two aspects, we do the work, one is visualization, one is geographical analysis technology. It can be said that one is it, the other is geography. What is the relationship between geography and GIS? It is said that, like physics and engineering, Physics is the foundation and engineering is practical. Geography is the foundation of things, and GIS is technology. One American proposed the development of GIS model, called the Spiral forward mode. I recently saw the function of GIS, I think it is also expanding, I would like to share with you, the first people know that geo-information technology, including GIS, the most important thing is positioning and mapping, there is an engineering application, the other is the management and ancillary decision-making. We often say that GIS is called geographic Information service. What is the next step in geo-information services? Next I think very important point, this is also my proposed, is to move towards control and management, you may not know what GIS can control, control what? For example, now everyone is driving, now the so-called self-driving car is Google, Last year, more than 1000 kilometers of testing, we CCTV is basically logo, Google is using navigation technology, so this technology can be said, I think in this generation of us can see the automatic navigation of the car system, is our GIS to the car, this is the GIS to control. Perhaps a lot of people do not know, we have a family playing model aircraft, in fact, we can download a small software on Google. This is a model aircraft plane, today to talk about the concept of the 1th is our GIS is not only information dissemination, information management, it is very important that will move to control, which will bring a great change in our world and society.
The second I want to talk about the development trend of GIS technology, there are a number of international companies specializing in IT consulting and analysis, which will lead many companies to guide society, including what is called SOA, including what we often know from technology to society, to what business knows is done by some consulting firms, Our country lacks such consulting firms, such consulting companies need a lot of knowledge, need them to guide the community, the United States has a very famous company called Gartner, it put forward a very interesting is the concept of the Halo curve, from the beginning and then downhill, constantly hype, constantly upgrade, such a curve, It publishes this curve every year. This June also released this curve, Westerners are very interesting, that is, next year's things are done in the first half. This curve is released, one is called cloud computing, there are many technologies. These technologies have slowly formed a more mature things, today I give you a concept, interested can understand you can surf the Internet to understand. These things are very helpful in understanding the trends of technology and understanding the future. But our country does not have the specialized such company. Below I through the analysis and some of my own practice, I summed up the GIS or the four major trends in geo-information technology, it should be said that there are fifth, six, here I mainly mention four big aspects.
The first is mobile technology, after a lot of things will come to our hands of the equipment, the previous very complex equipment now become our handheld devices, including GIS has moved to our mobile equipment, so mobile can be said to be the main trend of it, is also one of the most popular in Silicon Valley. It can be said that everything is technology, is to move as the goal. Another mobile has changed a lot, which is an important trend. The second is cloud computing, put on the last one. The third is the internet of things, what is it? We are now talking about things, also known as a sensor network, which refers to all kinds of information sensing devices, such as radio frequency identification devices and so on. The concept of the Internet of Things was proposed in 1999. I think we should focus on this area of geographic information, and this development, the hardware may be much larger than the geographical mapping industry, our Premier Wen called the perception of Jiangsu, and later proposed to perceive China. A famous British Journal of Economics says that the internet of things can change our lives, our handheld devices, doctors can automatically know your blood pressure, this is by the Internet, with the sensor, you get the equipment after the doctor can know how much your blood pressure, of course, other body elements can also be perceived. So this development is a very important area in the future. 4th, this is what I put forward, and some experts have come up with the so-called integration. Just now secretary Chen and the director of the Shaanxi Bureau also talked about the so-called geographical situation monitoring, the national situation monitoring is actually integrated. The word integration is hard to say what it is, not just technology integration, but also content integration, technology integration means that to solve a problem, need a lot of technology. Now you need to integrate with other information technologies, another one of our content to integrate, today we talked about very important geographical information is a graphic, in fact, graphics have a lot of attribute information, graphics and a lot of attribute information to combine, our society is concerned about geographical coordinates, in fact, we do mapping of the ancestors, such as Ptolemy, Geography is goeography, we all know that there is a word called the Earth, formerly known as the cinema, to make the earth as a cinema can be viewed at any time. So not only are we talking about these traditional elements, so we need to integrate a lot of things, including surface topography, population, hydrology, including socio-economic elements.
Our national Survey and Mapping Geographic Information Bureau has put forward the so-called geographical situation monitoring, I was a geographical person, I am very happy with this formulation, I think this is very significant, because the geography actually many changes, we today many people are the concept to express the view, we include the airspace, as well as our underground , including the ocean, is that all? Also not, we now include cyberspace also has sovereignty, this space also as a territory, so this aspect I feel our geographical change, and especially the global change culture, especially the emergence of some major disasters to give us a special need, So I think the geographical situation is very necessary. I don't know how the gay English of our information Bureau is called geographical situation. Monitoring of geographical conditions this thing, I have listened to the report of Secretary Chan, including to know a lot of things, including water conservancy, environmental protection and so on, need to integrate. There must be a lot of integration, but from my geographical origins, geography can not be separated from the humanities things, if leaving the humanities is not the geography of things, such as our country's largest geographical situation is what things, may be known to have a call Aihui Aihui-Tengchong line, now this line changes very weak, We have a geographical situation. I suggest that we should combine the elements of nature with the elements of humanity, the second question I am going to talk about today.
The third I talk about cloud computing, because I used to do geography, remote sensing, GIS development software. There's a little time today. I'd like to introduce the concept of cloud computing as a very important trend in it, but cloud computing was originally proposed by Amazon in March 06, and now many large companies, including IBM, are doing cloud computing. Many of our big companies, Unicom, mobile are doing this thing, but now including our cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou have their own cloud computing, have to go to the cloud. I also want to share with you, what is cloud computing? In fact, cloud computing is actually a group of computers. is an internet-based Super computing model, where thousands of computer servers are connected to a cloud of computers in a remote data center. It's very powerful for computers like this to make it into a cluster to manage and publish information. But the cloud is very virtualized, in fact I don't know where the computer is, where the server is, it's virtualized, and that's the core of it. Cloud evolution is also a lot, may be many comrades especially technology have heard of grid computing, cloud and grid computing What the difference, in fact, there is a certain difference, in a way cloud is a business model, cloud can put a lot of things in. The cloud has a great feature, and I speak so that everyone may know that is a large cluster, is a business model, is a virtual, it has a lot of characteristics, such as its data is safe and reliable, and its service is very convenient and efficient, because its ability to work is very strong, and social benefits are very high, So many cities are doing their own cloud computing centers. There are many ways to cloud, such as providing services for facilities, providing platforms, and providing data to provide these services according to the cloud framework. Also provide some applications, I do not need to develop their own, is such a step-by-step upgrade. Later there are many kinds of terminals, mobile phones, televisions, ordinary desktops.
In this environment, GIS is changing, what is GIS? Because its data is very large, the type is also more, this is the best for the GIS, because our data is very much, unlike some economic data is a table, and how can not compare with us a remote sensing image, a lifting soil, so we really call mass , and the type is more complex, so the cloud is the best way, then in such a case what our government do? What can we do in our industry? This is what we need to think about, so we can do a lot from the enterprise point of view, with our platform to build a public cloud, while providing some platform. We are also doing some work in the past few years, we have done some things, here I mainly from four aspects, one is from the support of virtualization Servicegis technology, I do not know where your server, in addition to cross-platform GIS technology, one is 64-bit GIS technology, There is also a two or three-dimensional integrated GIS technology. We have done some work in these areas, I would like to introduce a little bit, GIS virtualization is based on the cloud premise, this is a software that allows people to be placed in a virtual environment to run, it can automatically allocate CPU capacity, memory and management, is such a tool. Including many vendors have their own virtual machines, can be installed in his own virtual machine, you can based on such a system to do some debugging, it is how the internal virtual. This is the first thing we do, and the second one is cross-platform. What are the benefits of cross-platform? We know that we now have a set of Microsoft this cloud of things, there is a Linux cloud, across the platform we basically have several sets of solutions, one is the Windows solution, the other is a Java solution, we do GIS, the basic is to consider the standard C + + program, It can be used on Windows or Java, and this is a job. The 3rd I say a little bit is 64-bit GIS. We know that our current computer memory is only 4 G, mainframe can be packed terabytes, you how to install all right, but the software 32 bits, can only manage 4GB, you even though the 64-bit memory can not manage more, so it's efficiency in 4GB, so 64-bit can provide 18 billion GB. After several years of effort, we have released 64-bit Windows boards. Four is two or three-dimensional integrated GIS, three-dimensional two-dimensional three-dimensional to be integrated management, which we are also working hard. For example, you from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, itself is three-dimensional, is completely one. You have to do three-dimensional service, do three-dimensional analysis can be done on it. In this way, we can basically provide a cloud-based GIS service, we are called iserver, this is the work we have done in recent years, we have a joint verification of the work with IBM, with Microsoft to verify that Microsoft on some of its systems also use our system to do some publishing, so our system to do the work.
I summarize what I said today, I introduced the GIS social function expansion, has gradually moved towards the control. There is also a description of our GIS technology development four trends, but also introduces the cloud computing and GIS efforts, thank you!
