What is cloud computing? Is there a more authoritative definition standard? Let's take a rough look at the U.S. Government Department of National Standards and Technology (nist:national Cato of Standards and Marvell) Understanding and definition of cloud computing and business platforms. NIST considers the cloud computing model to have 5 basic features, 3 service models, and 4 usage models. The 5 basic features are: 1. Follow the required self service (on Demand self-service). 2. Access access to various network modes (Broad receptacle access). 3. Resource Pool Service (Resource pooling). 4. Rapidly changing agility (Rapid elasticity). 5. Measurable services (measured service). In 3 service models, NIST is divided into: SaaS (Software as a service), PaaS (Platform as a service), and IaaS (infrastructure as a service). The 4 use models are: Private Cloud, Community Cloud (Community Cloud), communal cloud (public Cloud), and mixed cloud (Hybrid Cloud).
The latest IDG has a survey that says there is a big market between the public cloud and the private cloud, called hosted private Cloud (HPC). It means providing private cloud services to businesses. Enterprises do not need to manage complex data centers themselves. There are two types of HPC, one is the strict sense of private cloud leasing, known as dedicated private Cloud. The enterprise fully leases a data center cloud service. Another looming private cloud is the virtual private Cloud, which is also a virtualized privacy cloud. This kind of business is a bit like a public cloud, but it is completely leased for enterprise users. The HPC market IDG predicts that the HPC market is 240 billion dollars by 2016, with an annual growth of 50% per cent from 2012 onwards. Among them, the virtual private cloud will explode and grow.
Recently, the US consultancy, PwC, has done a global survey of technology trends. Among the top 10 High-tech technologies are cloud computing: public cloud infrastructure services, private cloud, internet security, and large data analysis. On the cloud service platform, The main idea is that a hybrid cloud will lead the evolution of cloud services. More and more companies will adopt a hybrid cloud model that buys public cloud services when it comes to the services of a common cloud, such as computing power and storage capacity. In the private cloud, large enterprises are more likely to adopt this model and add mixed cloud patterns. In large data analysis, 58% per cent of respondents believe that the company currently lacks the computational power to handle large data, especially when data comes from different aspects and formats. 41% of North American respondents said they did not have the capacity to deal with their corporate it. The Asia-Pacific region holds the same view of 49%. The situation in Europe is better, for 33%.
IBM recently made a major commitment to cloud computing IaaS and decided to fully support OpenStack. I believe that IBM's support and promotion is the OpenStack long-term sustainable development of important good news, similar to IBM's support for Linux. IBM's plan to announce all its future cloud services will revolve around OpenStack. The OpenStack community is very excited about the news. Coo Mark Collier of the OpenStack Foundation said: "We want IBM to support OpenStack just as they did with Linux and other open source communities ...". The industry believes that the impact of IBM intervention on OpenStack will be more than Rackspace, become openstack in the industry's benchmark. IBM's past ability and experience with the OpenSource community has played a very important role in the success of Linux and Apache. IBM's strategy for OpenStack is slightly different from Rackspace and Redhat, and IBM is not going to publish its own OpenStack version of the enterprise, but to integrate it into IBM's cloud computing solutions, such as the upcoming IBM SmartCloud. The United States InfoWorld recently made a detailed survey of the famous 8 public clouds, including Amazon's Aws,google computing engine,hp Cloud,dell cloud,micosoft Azure, Rackspace's cloud and so on, InfoWorld came up with some very interesting conclusions and summed up 12 hard truth about cloud computing.
1. The performance of servers of the same size in each data center is different.
2. Excessive number of various models, operating system version of the choice.
3. The hourly charge accumulation is actually very expensive.
4. The price of SaaS software Services is hardly clear.
5. It is not good to be a complete solution for a company (with private).
6. How to guarantee security is still a myth.
7. It is not easy to plan what your application should be configured and meet the budget.
8. Downloading data is not easy.
9. Do not trust the service guarantee of various market terms.
