April 16 News, ZTE said April 15 that it has surpassed Alcatel-Lucent in the global wireless equipment market. ZTE's market share reached 12.6% at the end of 2009, according to Infonetics, a market research firm, from a carrier-frequency device with a large base station. ZTE's market share in the fourth quarter of 2009 was 9.1%. In the GSM field, ZTE's shipments are 750,000 carrier frequency devices, with a market share of about 20%, making ZTE the top three GSM equipment manufacturer in the world. By 2014, LTE, GSM and WCDMA would account for 22%, 30% and 42% per cent of the global market share of wireless access networks, the report said. From the system perspective, WCDMA wireless access network will be more than GSM for the first time, market share reached 41%. Current GSM market share is 36%,CDMA market share is 16%,TD market share is 7%. The global Wireless access network market has fallen 9.2% in 2009 years, from $42.5 billion in 2008 to $38.6 billion trillion. Interestingly, One-third of the world's 3G base stations are deployed in China (excluding base stations based on RF remote modules). Infonetics forecasts expects the global wireless market to grow by a single digit in 2009.
