ZTE seeks to be the top smart phone maker

Recently, ZTE President Shi Lirong interviewed Bloomberg Television. During the interview, Shi Lirong talked about ZTE's performance in the U.S. market and expressed the intention of becoming the top three handset suppliers in the world in 2016.

Bloomberg reported that Chinese manufacturer ZTE is aggressively attacking to enhance its image and sales in the global smart phone market, challenging Samsung and Apple, not just in the Chinese market. Although Washington has been the subject of security threats for a long time, ZTE is attracting more and more users in the U.S. market. ZTE and the Houston Rockets in the United States market cooperation, is seeking high-end mobile phones and the latest type of wifi projector impact the US market.

Shi Lirong said in an interview that ZTE is now the fourth largest mobile phone market in the United States and is expected to sell nearly 20 million terminals in the U.S. this year. As for the global market share target, Shirong reiterated that ZTE handsets will become the top three handset manufacturers in the world in 2016.

ZTE hopes last year's global shipments of 40 million on the basis of this year to achieve 60 million smart phone shipments next year's goal is 80 million. Shi Lirong said that to achieve this goal, overseas market revenue will be raised from the current 55% to 70%.

Bloomberg's report also pointed out that ZTE's core business is telecom equipment, and that Chinese operators are actively promoting 4G networks, which makes ZTE see tremendous opportunities. Shi Lirong said 4G network equipment revenue this year will double.
