Zutils is a toolset that can quickly process any combination of compressed and uncompressed files. It can extract content from any given file, including standard input or compressed files, and the compressed file can be uncompressed immediately without creating temporary files. The tool is not a wrappers script, but a more secure and efficient c++++ program that supports the "--recursive" option and provides commands such as: Zcat, zcmp, Zdiff, Zgrep, and Ztest. Supported compression formats include: Bzip2,.gzip, Lzip, and XZ.

Zutils 1.0-RC2 This version of the update configuration option "-datadir" has been renamed "-datarootdir" to follow the GNU standard.
