Zynga launches Chinese version of Texas poker game

According to foreign media reports, social game maker Zynga today announced its first traditional Chinese version of "Texas Poker", a localized game for international markets, in the traditional Chinese version of Texas Poker, Beijing time August 18. Zynga Poker is the first social game to be developed by Zynga in July 2007 and is currently the third most popular game in the world, with more than 28 million players per month. Now Facebook users in Hong Kong and Taiwan in China can also play the traditional Chinese version of the game. Zynga has been eyeing the Asian gaming market, shortly after acquiring Japanese game maker Unoh and Chinese game developer XPD Media and setting up an office in Beijing. Given Zynga's huge investment in Asia, it is expected to launch more localized games for the region in the future. (slides)
