Total Retail Sales

Xinhua News: Commerce Minister Chen Deming 24th in the National Business conference said that the total retail sales of China's social consumption is expected to exceed 12.5 trillion yuan, an increase of more than 15%.

The Census and Statistics Department released the provisional estimate of the value of total retail sales in April 09 at $21.7 billion, down 4.4% per cent, less than the market's expected 6.9% per cent, and the volume of retail sales after the deduction of price changes by 5.5% over the year.　　The revision of the value of total retail sales in March was estimated at $20.8 billion, down 7.7% per year, while the volume of total sales decreased by 9.2%. Analysed by main types of stores, sales of motor vehicles and spare parts decreased by 34% in volume in April, followed by clothing (12.8%%), furniture and fixtures (9%).

BCC Network News National Bureau of Statistics latest announcement: China's domestic market sales steadily accelerated growth, counties and counties below the growth faster than the city.
