PHP代碼可以出現在Web Page的任何位置，甚至在HTML的標籤裡面也可以。有4中方式在Web Page中包含PHP代碼：
使用<?php ... ?>標籤
<!doctype html><html> <head><title>This is my first PHP program!</title> </head><body> <p>Look, ma! It‘s my first PHP program:<br /> <?php echo "Hello, world"; ?><br />How cool is that?</p> </body></html>
使用<? ... ?>標籤
<? echo "Hello, world"; ?>
這種方式也被稱為短標籤(short tags)。
要使用這種方式，要麼在build PHP的時候使用--enable-short-tags，要麼在PHP的設定檔裡面配置short_open_tag。
使用<% ... %>標籤
<% echo "Hello, world"; %>
要使用這種方式，要麼在build PHP的時候使用--enable-aps-tags，要麼在PHP的設定檔裡面配置aps_tags。
使用<script>標籤
<script language="php"> echo "Hello, world";</script>
直接echo
如果開啟了<? ?>標籤，或者<% %>標籤，可以在開tag後面緊接=，開啟直接echo模式：
//下面兩句效果等價<input type="text" name="first_name" value="<?= "Dawn"; ?>"><input type = "text" name="first_name" value="<? echo ‘Dawn‘; ?>" >
