CentOS 5.3下 Nvidia顯卡驅動的安裝

1、我的顯卡型號是Nvidia Geforce 6100 ,在官網
下載的驅動是 NVIDIA-Linux-x86-195.36.15-pkg1.run，放在了/usr/softwarw目錄下，驅動的類型和下載的目錄可根據自己的具體情況。

2、安裝需要在文字模式下進行，開啟終端，執行init 3命令，會進入文字模式，重新登入。

3、cd /usr/software 進入驅動所在目錄。

4、執行 sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0.9746-pkg2.run -a

5、安裝過程很簡單，一直OK或者YES就行了。

6、手動修改/etc/X11/xorg.conf檔案。

將Section "Device"
    Identifier     "Device0"
    Driver         "nvidia"
    VendorName     "NVIDIA Corporation"
EndSection

中 Driver "nv"或 Driver "vesa"或 Driver "fbdev"替換成Driver "nvidia"

將Section "Module"
    Load           "dbe"
    Load           "extmod"
    Load           "type1"
    Load           "freetype"
    Load           "glx"
EndSection
中Load "dri"或Load "GLCore"替換成Load "glx"

找到Modes選項，根據自己顯示器的尺寸手工添加解析度，如"1024x768"  "1280x800"  "1280x768"等

7、重啟Linux。

安裝過程中可能會出現的錯誤：

ERROR: Unable to find the kernel source tree for the currently running kernel.
Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your
kernel and that they are properly configured; on Red Hat Linux systems, cant.t
for example, be sure you have the ‘kernel-source’ RPM installed. If you
know the correct kernel source files are installed, you may specify the
kernel source path with the ‘–kernel-source-path’ command line option.

這說明引用了錯誤的kernel source，可以在安裝命令後添加參數指定。

#sh  ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-164.15.1.el5-i686/

原因在於nvidia
installer預設會去/lib/modules/2.6.18-164.15.1.el5-i686/build尋找核源碼，而該連結指向/usr/src
/kernels/2.6.18-164.15.1.el5-i686，正確應為/usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-164.15.1.el5-i686。
