升職感言 At the Announcement of Your Promotion

　　Jennifer陞官了！她從業務代表一躍為業務部經理，從此進入公司的管理階層。這天，Gibson先生向大家宣布這個訊息，Jennifer也照例發表了她的'升職感言'。

　　Thank you, Mr. Gibson. It's a great honor to be following in your footsteps as Overseas Sales Manager.
　
　To be honest, this promotion came as quite a surprise. I'd like to
think it's mainly a recognition of the teamwork, above and beyond the
call of duty, in my department.
　　On that same note, I'd like to
thank all my colleagues in the company for their enthusiasm and hard
work. Due to their efforts, we've really gotten some overseas projects
off the ground for Action.
　　Looking to the future, I'd still like
to maintain contact with everyone, even though I'll be working at the
senior level. Well, what I'm trying to say is I won't let this step-up
go to my head. My door will always be open. Thank you again.

　　短語解說

follow in one's footsteps (as) 繼某人之後
這是個口語用法，原片語的字面解釋為'跟著某人的腳步'。指某人工作上的升遷，或其它方面的際遇，與另一個人相似。
He followed in his famous brother's footsteps to a career in acting.
他繼成名的哥哥之後，也走入演藝界。

above and beyond the call of duty 自動又賣力地
這個俚語源自軍隊用語，意指擔任某項職務的人，完成了比上司指派給他還多的工作量；引申為對工作主動而賣力的意思。"call"在此為'要求'之意。
Due to her performance above and beyond the call of duty, she was given a wonderful promotion.
她對工作主動而認真，表現非凡，因此獲得了升遷。

off the ground 開始；已起步
這個片語依字面解釋，是'離開地面'，比喻某件事情（一個計劃、構想等）已經起步，並且進行順利。
If we can get the new Taichung store off the ground, I think we can control the market there.

senior level 上級管理階層
"senior"在職位上意思是'資深的；較高的'；"senior level"則指公司成員中階級較高的，也就是"upper management level"進階主管階層。

step-up 晉陞、升級

這個俚語表示某件事闖入了某人的心中、腦袋中，沖昏了他的頭，使得他沾沾自喜。
That promotion just went to his head, and he never talked to his old friends again.
那次升遷沖昏了他的頭；他從此不再理老朋友了。
