照片上的小女孩，名叫唐雨寒，於2008年6月畢業於湖南大學軟體學院，在校期間多次獲得學校、學院的各項獎勵。2008年7月開始在北京朗新資訊系統有限公司廣州分公司工作。快樂而勤懇的唐雨寒，獲得使用者和公司的一致好評。

雨寒家在湖南郴州，為家中的獨生女，母親下崗多年。2008年12月，雨寒在重慶出差期間連續身體不適，在重慶就醫後並無好轉。2009年1月11日，雨寒突然在家中暈倒，送至廣州中山三院救治後，被確診為白血病，病情非常嚴重。2009年1月14日，雨寒轉院至廣東省人民醫院血液科，並被確診為急性髓性白血病。

現在，雨寒正在接受第一階段化療。整個治療過程需要多個化療療程，痛苦而漫長，而且直到找到合適骨髓才能進行骨髓移植手術。期間治療費用高昂，一個七天周期的療程約需五萬元費用；如找到合適骨髓，手術費則高達40萬左右。由於大部份治療用藥都不在社保報銷範圍內，治療所需的費用，對於這個家庭來說，無疑是一個天文數字。

病魔也許可以奪去生命的健康，但卻不能奪去校友間的真情。讓我們深圳的校友團結起來、發動起來，平時少抽一包煙、聚會少點一道菜、夜晚少泡一次吧、出行少打一次車，省出來的錢就完全能夠挽救一個我們身邊的親人。再小的善心乘以我們在深上萬名湖大校友也將成為一片愛的海洋，捐資不論多少，善舉不分先後，貴在有一份真摯的愛心。她需要您、需要我、需要我們大家伸出雙手。

為了協助雨寒度過難關，為了分秒之間的生存機會，我們呼籲所有能夠聽到的人，我們期待所有人的關注，我們和雨寒全家一樣，急切的盼望著、感激著您的善良。
