RHEL是一個非常穩定的Linux發行版，也是業界的領袖級產品，正是因為保守的應用，導致不少初學的朋友們很難適應，最大的問題是軟體的安裝。 雖然YUM工具也非常的方便，但只要註冊了RHN的使用者才能真正的享受VIP層級及簡易的安裝操作，雖然建立YUM本地更新庫也是一個辦法，畢竟不能和 RHN同日而語。

據說，CentOS的源是和RHN同步的，CentOS作為RHEL原始碼重新編譯產生的同胞兄弟，因此好多的人都在想能不能將RHEL的更新設定 到CentOS的源上呢？當然是可以的，因為CentOS其實也就是重新編譯過的RHEL，所有的東西幾乎相同，至於哪一個更值得使用者選擇，見仁見智的問 題，這裡不會討論。
