Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the latest update to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, release 4.9 (with kern el-2.6.9-100.EL) for a family of products including:

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4 for x86, AMD64/Intel(r) 64, Itanium Processor Family, S/390, System p and System z
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 for x86, AMD64/Intel(r) 64, and Itanium Processor Family
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4 for x86, AMD64/Intel(r) 64, and Itanium Processor Family
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop 4 for x86 and AMD64/Intel(r) 64

This is the final minor release for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.  With this release Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 will be entering Production 3 phase during which qualified security Errata Ad visories of critical impact, as well as, selected urgent priority bug-fix errata may be released.
