IEEE Std 1028-1988Definition: Review is a method of evaluating software elements or project States to determine if they are consistent with the planned results and improve them. Check whether the work product correctly meets the specifications established in previous work products, such as requirements or design documents.
Reviews can be divided into management reviews, technical reviews, document reviews, and process reviews.
1.Management review is the quality system review. It is usually planned and organized by the top management, and evaluated based on the adaptability and effectiveness of the implementation of quality policies and objectives at the specified time interval, evaluate the adaptability of system documents and the effectiveness of quality activities.
2.The technical review evaluates the products and output content (phased outcome and semi-finished products) of each stage to ensure consistency between the requirement specification, design documents, test plans and use cases, it is strictly enforced to correctly develop software products.
3.Document Review reviews the format and content of various documents existing in the software process, and checks whether they comply with existing templates and whether their document formats comply with standards, the content mainly checks its consistency and testability.
4.Process Review: reviews the software development process. It reviews processes rather than products. By monitoring the processes, it ensures that the project complies with the software processes defined by the Organization and strictly implements the quality assurance policy.
