6.3 System Log Configuration

Network administrators can choose different ways to save system logs: More detailed logs can be easily located during future checks, but there will be a lot of records, which is inconvenient to save; the simplified log can be used to notify the network administrator of special events when an alarm is required.
The Qno na router provides three Log Settings: System Log (Syslog) logs are stored in the log server, and email notifications are sent to the network administrator by email. log types are the content and format to be recorded.
The Syslog server is a server dedicated to storing logs of different devices. The advantage is that all logs can be fully maintained and must be configured for enterprises with high requirements. The common log server software is MRTG and Mt_Syslog, which can run on Unix/Linux or Windows operating system platform.
Email Notification is to send the log content to a specific email. In the configuration screen, you can set the maximum number of logs and the mail sending time for easy processing. The email notification function can also be used with the SMS gateway to send SMS messages to the network administrator's mobile phone or mobile device.
System log configuration is the details of the log, including the content and format. Content, including different warning events, whether to record, should be enabled as needed, because continuous log transmission will also affect the efficiency of the router, which for high load applications, it must also be avoided. It is important to note that the network management directly records all the events and may cause a burden on the system.
