Most users who have used 56kMODEM have experience of disconnection, but now many users who use ADSLModem encounter the most problems, not disconnection, but interruption of ADSL.
What is the problem of ADSL disconnection? Generally, ADSLMODEM can be used for dial-up login. However, when accessing the internet, the data stream transmission is suddenly interrupted and no response is returned. After a while, the system automatically recovers from normal. This means that the webpage cannot be opened and the download is interrupted, the video or audio you want to watch or listen to online is interrupted.
The following are the common causes and solutions for the disconnection problem. You can refer to them for reference:
I. Line Problems
Solution: Is the domicile more than 2.5 kilometers away from the Telecommunications Bureau )? You can submit a complaint to the telecommunications department. Make sure that the line connection is correct and the connection methods of different voice splitters are different. Please follow the instructions in this document to make sure that the line communication quality is good without interference, there is no connection to other devices that may cause line interference, such as telephone extensions and fax machines. Check whether there is poor contact between the junction box and the crystal head, and whether there is any link with other wires. It is best to use standard telephone lines if conditions are met. It is better to use twisted pair cables of category 3, Category 5 or category 5 of ITU standards. The telephone lines are separated after they are entered. The first line is telephone and the first line is computer. If you must use a wire box, it is best to use a good quality. The cables connecting the PC to the ADSLMODEM are twisted pair wires attached to the ADSLMODEM.
Note: Do not place the mobile phone next to ADSLMODEM, because the phone will automatically find the network every few minutes. In this case, the strong electromagnetic interference is enough to cause the ADSLMODEM to be disconnected.
Ii. Nic ProblemsIncluding Nic faults or ISA Nic problems)
Solution: Replace the isa nic with PCI, and select a good Nic for installation. A Poor Nic may be the cause of the problem. 10 M or 10 M/M Adaptive Nic.
Iii. Operating System Problems
Solution: Install patches.
The Windows 98 SE network component has a major defect. We recommend that you download the patch before installing PPPoE.

Upgrade 1.3 Patch for Windows 98 dial-up network 1.4.

Iv. dialing software problems
Solution: there are two ways for ADSL to access the Internet: virtual dial-up and leased line access. Currently, most of China Telecom's ADSL uses the former. PPPOEPoint-to-PointProtocoloverEthernet's Point-to-Point Protocol) the virtual dialing software has its own advantages and disadvantages. I use Windows XP as the operating system and its built-in PPPOE dialing software, there are few cut-off phenomena. If you are using Windows ME or 9x, you can use the following types of virtual dialing software: EnterNet, WinPoET, and RasPPPoE. If you have problems using a PPPOE dialing software, you may wish to uninstall the software and use another PPPOE dialing software. The site "coolhuman.com" has three different PPPOE software downloads. Be sure not to use multiple PPPOE software to avoid conflicts.
V. System Software settings
Solution: the configuration is incorrect. The longest possible reason is that the IP address of the ADSL Network Card is set or the DNS server is set incorrectly. For users who use ADSL virtual dialing, they do not need to set IP addresses. They can be allocated automatically. Generally, TCP/IP gateways do not need to be set. In addition, you must set DNS correctly. If the operating system is Windows 9x or me, enter winipcfg in the DOS window to obtain the DNS address, and enter ipconfig in Windows XP, or go to the local telecom website.
