In this experiment, the basic configuration of the RIP Protocol involves the commands required to configure the RIP Protocol and common monitoring commands.
1. Tutorial Purpose
Through this experiment, you can master the following skills:
Start the RIP Protocol on the vro;
Declare the network to enter the RIP route process;
View the route table and understand the meaning of related fields;
View the RIP Protocol configuration;
Monitors information about the RIP Protocol.
2. device requirements
This experiment requires the following devices:
Three Cisco routers, named R1, R2, and R3, must have one Ethernet interface and two serial connections □;
3 DCE cables, 3 DTE cables, or 3 DCE-to-DTE cables;
One Terminal Server, such as a Cisco 2509 router. And the corresponding cables used for reverse Telnet;
One PC with Super Terminal Program, as well as the Console cable and adapter.
3. topology and Configuration
As shown in topology 5.1, the DCE and DTE cables are connected to form three pairs of cables. Connect R1 and R2 "RE with R3, R2, and R3 respectively using these three pairs of cables. The interfaces used by the routers and their serial numbers are shown in Figure 5.1.
IP Address Allocation is as follows:
R1: E0 172.16.1.1, 50 172.16.12.1, 51 172.16.13.1;
R2: E0 172.16.2.2, 50 172.16.12.2, 51 172.16.23.2;
R3: E0 172.16.3.3, 50 172.16.13.3, 51 172.16.23.30
The subnet mask is 255.0000000000.
In the experiment, the serial line rate between R and R2 and between R and R3 is set to 5 OOkbit/s, and the serial line rate between R2 and R3 is set to 64 kbit/s.
In this experiment, you must configure the RIP route selection protocol to connect the entire network.
4. Experiment configuration and monitoring results
After the lab environment is ready, turn on the power of the PC, access server, and router. Start the experiment.
Now, we do not know whether the cables connected to the router serial interfaces are DCE cables or DTE cables. At the same time, the router's E0 interfaces are not connected to any devices. Configure three routers and start the RIP route selection protocol.
The specific configuration process is shown in configuration List 5-1 and 5-2. The configuration list is described in detail.
