Basic Steps for separate deployment of arcsom and arcsoc

This section describes how ArcGIS Server is deployed on a Windows operating system,
The most typical scenario is that the arcsom machine only has the SOM component, or the arcsoc machine only has the SOC component.
1. Use the same username and password when installing the GIS server postinstall on the two machines, such as the test user. It is best not to use the administrtor user, however, you need to add the user to the Administrator group and check whether the user is in the agsadmin and agsuser groups. If not, manually add the user to the group.

2. On the SOM machine, after the GIS server is connected using manager in arcctalog, In the ArcGIS Server Properties dialog box, change the output directory on the diretories page, rename output directories to the standard UNC directory, such as machinename \ arcgisserver \ arcgisoutput,
If the SOC machine cannot parse the machine name of SOM, you can change it to an IP address or C: add the machine name and IP address in the \ windows \ system32 \ drivers \ etc \ hosts file.

4. The next step is to release the service. before publishing the service, you must first consider the released mxd and the involved data. The SOC machines can access the service. If file data is involved, for example, shapefile, personal GDB, and file GDB, mxd and the directory where the data is stored must be shared. If it is an SDE data source, you only need to share the directory where mxd is located.
