PhotoshopHave you calibrated your display?
You need to know that whether you are preparing a drawing for printing or online use, you should first calibrate the display so as to accurately display the color on the display.
After the monitor is calibrated, Photoshop will compensate for the difference between the color space of the image and the color space of the display image. This ensures that the screen color matches the printer, video display, or the colors produced by different computer monitors as much as possible, and that the colors in Adobe Photoshop match the colors in other programs as much as possible. If the monitor is not calibrated, the color may be far from the one you saw on it. You don't want this, do you?
In fact, it is very easy to calibrate the monitor. as you do it step by step, even if your monitor is calibrated.
First, make sure that your monitor has been on for at least half an hour to stabilize the display.
Then adjust the light in your work environment to the brightness during normal working hours. To reduce the impact of ambient light on the computer screen, it is recommended that you work in a fixed ambient light.
Turn off all the desktop patterns and change the background color on the display to bright gray. This prevents background color from interfering with your color vision and helps you adjust the display to neutral gray.
Start the Adobe Gamma utility in the Photoshop/Goodies/Calibration folder (Windows) or Photoshop/Goodies/Calibration folder (Mac OS). I started Adobe Gamma in the control panel, this is easier to find.
Select the version of the utility you want to use, step by step or control panel:
"Step by step", the utility of this version guides you through every step of the process. If this option is selected, perform the operations step by step according to the descriptions described in the utility. Let's choose this Calibration Wizard.
Click "control panel" and click "next". the utility of this version is included in a single dialog box. If this option is selected, follow the instructions described in the rest of this section.
Click "next". the default value here is to use Adobe Monitor Profile as the starting point to calibrate the display. if you want to, click "LOAD" and select the most consistent ICC Profile with the display, use this as the starting point to calibrate the display.
[Note] in Windows, the Windows/System/Color folder is displayed by default, which contains the. icm file in the 8.3 format.
Click "next", here is to increase the contrast and brightness on the display to the maximum value. Adjust the brightness control on the monitor to make the staggered gray blocks in the top bar as dark as possible (but not black), and keep the bottom bar White. After adjustment, you should remember their position. when the contrast and brightness change, the screen will be displayed along with the offset and must be corrected again.
Next, select the type of your tube. different tubes may also display different types of tubes. If the correct type is not listed, select "custom ".
For "grayscale coefficient", you can select one of the following options to set the current grayscale coefficient:
"Show only one grayscale", adjust the grayscale coefficient based on a combination of grayscale readings. Drag the slider under the grayscale preview until the center box disappears into the pattern box.
If you do not select "show only one grayscale", you can adjust the grayscale coefficient based on the red, blue, and Green readings. Drag the slider under each box until the center box matches the pattern box.
For "expected value", select the target gray level coefficient. For example, in Windows, the default target gray level coefficient is 2.2, and in Mac OS it is 1.8.
Note: This option is not available on Windows "unrecognized display" systems.
For "hardware", select the color temperature of the display according to the display manufacturer's instructions. This setting determines whether to use warm white or cold white. To measure the hardware color temperature, select "measurement" and follow the instructions on the screen. Generally, 6500 K is used in Europe and America, while 9300 K is used in Japan.
For "adjust", if you know the color temperature of the final image, select here. Otherwise, select "same as hardware ". You need to work on a different color temperature from the hardware settings specified by the monitor factory to select a different setting.
[Note] This option is also not available on Windows "unrecognized display" systems.
Storage Settings, calibration completed!
Tip:
You can use a third-party calibration utility to generate an ICC profile that is compatible with the ICM 2.0 or ColorSync, instead of using the Adobe Gamma utility.
If you have used the ICC cognitive calibration tool to re-calibrate the display without changing the display settings, you do not have to re-calibrate the display.
In Photoshop 4.0 or earlier versions, the "grayscale coefficient" settings stored in the display setting utility (Windows) or Gamma (grayscale coefficient) control panel (Mac OS) are not supported.
