Overview of the OSPF protocol:
• Link state Routing protocol
• No class routing
Routerid
• Neighbor Discovery-Neighbor Discovery using Hello packet
• To propagate LSA instead of routing table update
-Link: Router interface
-Status: Describes the interface and its relationship to the neighbor router
• Flooding the LSA to all OSPF routers in the zone, not just direct-attached routers
• Collect all LSA generated by the OSPF router to create the OSPF link state database
• Use the SPF algorithm to calculate the shortest distance to each destination and place it in the routing table

OSPF protocol Overview-Zones:
-In order to accommodate large networks, OSPF divides multiple regions within the AS
-each OSPF router maintains only the complete link state information for the area
