When compiling snappy under Ubuntu, when checking for dependencies, when handling autoconf packages, the following error is reported when the dependent packages are installed, but it is still the case.

As possibly useful info if anyone else hits the "possibly undefined macro:ac_define" error.

That ac_define error (specifically for ac_define) can is caused by pkg-config not being installed, or at least no T found in the search path.

After installing Pkg-config, the problem is resolved.
