1. Notes
The comment starts with # and ends with the end of the line.
If the # character appears in a string or regular expression literal, it serves as part of the string or regular expression rather than introducing a comment.
# This entire line is a comment
X = "# This is a string"
Y =/# This is a regular expression/
The preceding two are not comments.

2. embedded documents
Multi-line comment style.
It starts with a "= begin" and ends with a "= end" (the line where "= end" is included ).

= Begin must start with the first one

= Begin someone needs to fix the brokencode below!
Any code here is commented out
= End

# = Begin someone needs to fix the brokencode below!
The code that goes here is no longer commented out
# = End
