There are many ways to connect two Enis. You can use two Enis to connect them through unshielded dual-line connections (UTP). You can also use a serial port or a parallel port to directly connect them, or use a USB interface to connect them, you can also use the computer's infrared interface for wireless connection and Remote sharing through two modem connections. In these methods, the use of two NICs to connect through twisted pair wires is the simplest, convenient, and most commonly used connection method. The following describes how to achieve dual-host interconnection.

1. Network Interface

1. Create a network cable

Before connecting to the network, we should first consider the production of the network cable. Generally, if you use twisted pair wires to build a network, you need a hub. When you connect to the network through a hub, the cabling method of twisted pair wires is very easy. You only need to clamp the two network cables one by one, the order of cabling is the same on both sides: 1. White orange, 2, orange, 3, white green, 4, Blue, 5, white blue, 6, green, 7, white Brown, 8, Brown. Note that both ends are in the same line Order and one-to-one correspondence. This is the M network cable line standard, that is, the 568b standard, that is, what we usually call the main line or standard line.

However, as a small network with only two machines, it is a waste of a few hundred yuan to buy a hub. In fact, we can directly connect the two computers with a network cable instead of a hub, however, there will be some slight changes in the network cable practice at this time. By changing the network cable sequence, we can achieve dual-host interconnection without hubs. The specific method is: one end uses the above 568b as the line standard, and the other end swaps the positions of line 1 and line 2 and line 6 of the eight lines on this basis, the line sequence of the network cable becomes: 1. White green, 2, green, 3, white orange, 4, Blue, 5, white blue, 6, orange, 7, white Brown, 8, Brown. This is the M network cable 568a standard, which is what we usually call the anti-line or cross-line. After the cable sequence is arranged according to the 568b and 568a standards at one end, a network cable suitable for direct connection between two computers is ready.

2. Nic Installation

After the network cable is ready, the next step is to install the network card. Here we take TP-LINK TF-3239V NIC (10 M/M dual-speed adaptive Nic, using realtek8139 main chip) in Win98 installation process as an example to make a simple introduction.

First turn off the host power, TF-3239V Nic inserted into the motherboard an idle PCI slot, fixed after inserting, then start Win98, enter Win98 after the system will prompt to find new hardware, enter the hardware Installation Wizard, start search driver Program Select "specify a location", find the path where the NIC Driver is located (for example, a:/Win98), and click OK. At this time, the system will start copying the required files, after the installation is complete, the system prompts whether to restart. Click OK to restart the system. Then, the NIC installation process is complete successfully. The NIC installation process for other * Operating systems such as Win2000 is similar.

3. Network Settings

After the NIC is installed, the following is the last and most difficult step of Dual-host Interconnection: network settings. Here, I also use the network settings under Win98 as an example. First, we need to check whether the system's network components have been fully installed: Select "Network neighbors" on the desktop, right-click to open its properties, and check whether there are the following items in the configuration list: realtek8139 network adapter (NIC), Microsoft Network Customer (service), TCP/IP protocol (Protocol), file and printer sharing service on Microsoft Network (service ). To connect to a LAN and share resources, the above components are essential. If not, you can add them directly here. Then, set the IP address, select "TCP/IP-à realtek8139 network adapter" (that is, the network adapter's TCP/IP protocol settings), open its properties, and enter "192,168" in the IP address bar, "255,255,255", subnet mask is "192,168, 0", and then click "OK" to return to the "network" Main Screen (the IP address of another computer is ", the subnet mask is the same). In the identification item, you should enter different names for the two computers, but their working groups should be the same. In the access control item, select the share level, click "OK" and restart the computer as prompted. Pay attention to network logon when restarting your computer. Start the computer and enter the Win98 page. Right-click my computer and select the drive or folder to be shared, click share in the shortcut menu, and enter the share name in the dialog box, set the sharing type and access password as needed. In this case, a palm appears on the drive or folder, indicating that the folder has been shared. Now we can access another computer through a network neighbor just like using local resources.

2. Direct cable connection

Using Direct cables to connect through the computer's serial port or parallel port is also a common solution for dual-host direct connection. Compared with network card connection, this solution is more practical for users who do not require high network quality. Its advantages are convenient connection and low cost. Of course, its shortcomings are obvious:

1. Relatively short connection distance:

The length of the parallel cable using "Direct cable connection" should preferably not exceed 3 meters. Within this distance, we can ensure the stability and integrity during data transmission. This method is applicable to two computers that are very close to each other. If you want to connect to a computer from a distance, this connection method is definitely not feasible;

2. When a serial port cable is used for connection:

Data transmission may be slow, so if you connect two computers to play games, this method is generally not suitable. But in general, direct cable connection is a cost-effective and easy networking method when you only have two computers. Communication cables are essential for dual-host Direct cable connection. We recommend that you purchase them directly at a local computer store or network company. It is mainly divided into two types: serial port cable and parallel port cable. It should be noted that you should choose the communication cable used for computer and computer connection, do not select the computer and printer and other peripherals connected to the communication cable. These two cables are generally not interchangeable. After buying the cable, use it to connect the two computers. Start the computer and enter the Win98 system. Select Start> program> accessories> communication> Direct cable connection (if not, choose "Control Panel"> "Add/delete programs"> "Windows Installer"> "communication"> "Direct cable connection ". Set "protocol", "identifier", and "share" in "network", and set the port as prompted, set one server and the other client. In the "Direct cable connection" option, select "listener" for the host, select "connection" for the client host, and enter your username and password to connect to the host. In this case, the client can use various resources on the host, including network resources. When you no longer exchange data for computers in the home or office, the hard drive needs to be taken away.

The above two methods are the simplest and most commonly used to achieve dual-host interconnection. There are many other methods, such as using infrared port connection and using MODEM Remote sharing, which will not be described in detail here.
