I. Definition
Definition: the random test of the single sample variable value is to check whether the value of a variable is random, also known as the Run process ).
The random test of the single sample variable value was proposed by Wald. Its zero hypothesis is H0: The variable value of a certain population variable is random.
The random test of a single sample variable value is implemented by the Run number. A run is the number of consecutive variable values in a sample sequence.

If the accompanied probability value is greater than the significance level, then, the null hypothesis H0 cannot be rejected, and the appearance of variable values is random.
