Email server software: exchange2007, MDaemon, winmail mail server software, and U-mail server software.
1. Create an MDaemon server
MDaemon is a powerful email server software that runs on Windows 9x/me and Windows NT/XP/2000/2003 operating systems, it is particularly suitable for users who need to send emails to each other on the LAN and send emails to each other on the Internet. In addition to SMTP/POP3, MDaemon servers also include mail lists, support for aliases, automatic replies, automatic forwarding, multi-domain names, remote management, and other services. The MDaemon software of unlimited user versions can support thousands of users, so MDaemon can be applied to email services of any organization. The following describes how to install, configure, and manage MDaemon in a Windows 2003 environment.
I. Windows 2003 Server MDaemon Installation
(1) At the beginning of MDaemon installation, the system will require the user to select the language used in the MDaemon control interface. The MDaemon management interface supports multiple languages-English, German, and French. If you are familiar with English, we recommend that you select U. S. English for installation.
(2) Click OK in the dialog box to display the software license agreement. To continue MDaemon installation, you must accept this protocol.
(3) Click "agree" to display the Installation Wizard that selects the MDaemon installation path.
The installation path stores emails of all users. Therefore, we recommend that you install MDaemon in a partition with a large available disk space. Click the Browse button to select a new installation path.
(4) Click Next to display the Installation Wizard dialog box for entering authorization information. Here, you can enter the user and Organization Names respectively.
(5) Click Next To go to the page for selecting the component to be installed.
MDaemon has the following three installation and selection components.
MDaemon server for SMTP, pop and IMAP service are the most basic mail server content, so you must choose to install. It provides the SMTP mail sending service, POP3 mail receiving service, and IMAP service.
MDaemon client for Remote Configuration Services is a tool used to remotely manage the mail server.
If the mail server is stored in the ISP as a host, but cannot be controlled to the server frequently, this tool is the best choice.
WorldClient server for web based email and groupware services is used to select whether to install the web method to send and receive email client services. In MDaemon, webmail is the WorldClient. It is intended to be known to allow users to access this email server in any corner of the world. MDaemon performs email access based on B/S (Browser/Server) without installing any client software. All you need is a browser.
(6) Click "Next". The "prepare for installation" dialog box is displayed, prompting you to officially install MDaemon.
(7) Click Next to start the installation process and copy the file to perform the formal installation of MDaemon. After the installation is complete, the configure DNS dialog box is displayed. Enter the IP address of the primary DNS server and the backup DNS. Note that IP addresses are not fixed for dial-up users, so do not enter them. Select the use Windows DNS settings check box to use the network settings in windows.
(8) Click Next. The create first user registration information dialog box is displayed. Enter the full name (acceptable Chinese) and email account name (excluding the host domain name) in each text box) and account password. Here, this account is the postmaster (this account is an administrator account) and this accounth as administrator level Web Access (this account has the web administrator permission) options. If you want to use this user as the server administrator and web access administrator, you can select the two items respectively.
(9) Click the next button to check whether the mail service is added to the system service of the server. It is necessary to select this check box so that the created server can run the mail system normally without logging on to the server after it is started.
(10) Click the next button and the system will prompt whether to install the advanced options. Select the I want to go through the setup process now check box. The installer configures the MDaemon email server in wizard mode.
(11) Click the next button. The advanced installation setting wizard displays a description file. Click Next to display the dialog box for setting the domain name used by the email server. Enter a domain name in the blank column. For example, if the official domain name is ghq.org, type ghq.org here.
(12) Click Next to display the dialog box for setting the email proxy. When MDaemon receives an email, the POP server address (POP host) and user name and password entered here are connected to the mailbox and received to the local server, the user then receives the email from the local email server, that is, this is a mail proxy function. Because we provide email services for ourselves rather than for any email proxy, leave blank without entering any content.
(13) Click Next to display the Installation Wizard for setting MDaemon and ISP connection methods. If you have set up an email proxy, you need to establish a connection with the ISP. If no email proxy is set, no settings are required here. Deselect the yes, I want MDaemon to connect me to my ISP check box.
(14) Click the next button, and the system prompts that the MDaemon server has been successfully installed, and the installation successful dialog box is displayed. The four options mean to start MDaemon, view the instructions, upgrade immediately, and automatically monitor the upgraded version later. Select the check boxes start MDaemon and check for future updates automatically. The system immediately starts MDaemon and automatically downloads the update package online to upgrade MDaemon.
(15) Click Finish to complete the installation process and open the main interface of the Management window.

WorldClient is running under IIS: select this check box. When IIS is installed on the server, WorldClient runs under the IIS service.
Run worldclients server using this TCP port: In this text box, specify the port number used to access WorldClient. The default value is 3000, that is, users can access WorldClient through http://mail.ghq.org: 3000 (where mail.ghq.org refers to the domain name of the mail server. Of course, the port number can be changed to any port that is not occupied by the system.
Sessions not composing a message expire after 20 inactive minutes: In this text box, specify the idle connection timeout time. For example, if the client does not execute any email operation tasks within 20 minutes when it is set to 20, the system sets the connection to time out. When you connect to the server again, you need to re-verify the user name and password.
Sessions composing a message expire after 20 inactive minutes: Specify the connection timeout value in the text box. For example, if the value is set to 120 and the user's connection to the email server exceeds 120 minutes, the system also considers the connection to be timed out and forcibly disconnects the connection to require the user to log on again. This setting can not only prevent users from sending large volumes of attachments, but also prevent users from sending large volumes of spam.
Cache HTML templates to increase web server performance: select this check box to load the HTML template to the cache to Improve the Performance of Web Services.
Use cookies to remember Logon Name, theme, and other properties: select this check box. The system uses cookies to store user names, user-defined styles, and other data. This option is used by default. However, if users frequently access the Internet in public places, such as Internet cafes, we recommend that you cancel this option to increase security.
Require IP persistence throughout WorldClient session: select this check box to complete the same WorldClient process independently on the same IP address. This is also in consideration of security, so we recommend that you select this option.
Bind WorldClient's Web server to these IPs only... type IP address information in the text box to bind WorldClient to this address. If you have multiple IP addresses, virtual hosts, and want users to use different p addresses to access the same WorldClient service, you can enter all the IP addresses you want to bind in this box, separate multiple IP addresses with commas. If it is left blank, it indicates that you only want to use the IP address of MDaemon.
Restart worrentclient: click this button to restart WorldClient. Generally, it is used only after the WorldClient port or other options are modified.
(4) Select the domain options tab, where you can set the domain name as follows.
Select domain: select the domain name used by WorldClient from the drop-down list. If you only use one domain name, select the default option.
Language: select a language from the drop-down list, for example, Chinese ZH (Chinese ). The system itself supports the Chinese WorldClient interface, which is undoubtedly a good setting for friends who are not very good at English.
Theme: select the page style from the drop-down list. WorldClient comes with several style templates. You can set the default system template here.
Dateformat: select the date format from the drop-down list.
Allow user to create new accounts: select this check box to allow users to create new accounts themselves. This is a very considerate Design of MDaemon. Allowing users to apply for a mailbox automatically saves the trouble of manually adding users as administrators.

Use advanced compose: select this check box to use advanced editing mode.
Enable comagent support: select this check box to enable Proxy Support.
Enable Instant Messaging: select this check box to send the email directly.
Log all IM traffic at the server level: select this check box to record all transfer records to the log file.
Im buddy list members des members of other domains: select this check box. The IM friends list can contain other domain name users.
