Fluke: Wiring test knowledge

1. What parameters do I need to test when testing optical cables?

According to TIA/ISO and national standards, the optical fiber cables must be tested at two wavelengths. Multi-mode optical fiber cables use 850nm and 1300nm LED light sources, and single-mode optical fiber cables use 1310nm and 1550nm laser sources. In addition, the test direction should be consistent with the optical transmission direction during application. The tested power attenuation value can be determined by calculating the standard power attenuation of components on each optical fiber connection or using standard indicators. If your tester does not use the LED light source when testing multimode, and the test direction is wrong, according to the standard is not met. The correct test should be as follows:

 

In 2003, TIA passed the TSB-140. The optical fiber test is divided into two levels: the first level uses optical power testing tools and only needs to test the length, polarity and attenuation. The second level uses OTDR to point out the quality of the optical link, including the position of the connection plug-in and the weld point.

2. What method can be used for diagnosis if the crosstalk in the near end fails?

3. If the return loss fails, how can I diagnose it?

4. Why cannot I use a general jumper When testing a permanent link?
When testing a permanent link, some of the cable characteristics of the Jumper cannot be included in the test results, but the sockets connected to the permanent link must be included. The return loss characteristics of a line will be changed due to distortion, and the connection characteristics of the common jumper connector and the socket of the permanent link will also be offset. Different zeroth calibration methods cannot compensate this error. Therefore, the DSP series and the latest DTX series use the permanent link adapter PLA) to ensure the parameter stability of the testing line part, coupled with the high stability and neutral indicators of the PM06 personalized plug module, it ensures the repeatability and accuracy of the test results. 5. Why does fluke's certification tester not support Chinese characters?
China is fluke's second largest market in the world and attaches great importance to the needs of Chinese users. The latest DTX series user interface already supports Chinese color screens. In addition, the diagnosis prompts that the LinkWare data management software is in full Chinese.
