The installation mode of Hadoop is divided into three types: single-machine mode, pseudo-distribution mode, full distribution mode

Stand-alone mode, which is the default installation mode, is also the least resource-intensive mode, the configuration file is not modified. Runs completely locally, does not interact with other nodes, does not use the Hadoop file system, does not load any daemons, and is primarily used to develop debugging MapReduce applications.

Pseudo-distribution mode, a single-node cluster mode, in which all daemons run on the same machine. This mode adds code debugging capabilities to view memory, HDFs input/output, and interactions with other daemons.

Fully distributed mode, truly distributed cluster configuration, for production environments.
