Recently, a lot of birds in this question to ask some of these issues too many posts I'm tired of looking back to tell you all about it now please don't ask the same question again.
In general, if we are using an NTFS partition will not encounter such a situation, only under the FAT32 to do the overall image will be the case, that is because FAT32 does not support a single file greater than 2G so the overall image you made is not a complete file. To solve this problem, we can solve the problem by compressing the backup with ghost volume. The order is as follows:
The key to row-volume compression is to add the necessary parameters after the Ghost Start command. The format of the command is as follows:
ghost-split=2000
Where 2000 is the qualified size of the mirrored file, in megabytes (MB), with a value range of 0~2048.
After starting ghost:
Select its menu "Local/partition/to Image", then select the hard disk you want to back up, and then let you select the partition you want to carry and then come down and let you choose the location and name of the backup file. This time there will be three backup mode to let you choose, "No" does not compress, "fast" rapid compression, "high" highly compressed. Generally do not compress the fastest, but the backup file is large, while the highly compressed file is small, but slow, so the speed and compression to find a balance between, "fast" is the best choice.
According to your need to select the compression mode, Ghost began to backup the work, which is not the same as usual use. Only when you reach the size of the backup file you set up, the dialog box pops up, select "OK" to continue the backup work; "Cancel" is the end of the backup; and "FileName?" is to rename the backup file, it is recommended to select "OK" directly, if your backup file is large, then this window may appear many times.
A similar window will appear at the end of the day, requiring the user to reinsert the 1th volume mirrored file storage media, which also has 3 options, "OK", "Cancel" and "FileName?". This is because ghost stores the partition information for the hard disk in the beginning of the first volume of the mirrored file, and when the backup process ends, the information is updated, so the user is required to reinsert the storage media for the first volume of the mirrored file. If you always use the same storage medium to store mirrored files, click "OK" directly here. At this point, you have completed the system's volume compression backup work.
