Recently, I have been working on recruiting new graduates for the company. I am mainly responsible for the technical test and interview. Although I am not as professional as human resources, I have a few words to say to my new graduates. These words are neither a secret nor a shortcut, but an attitude.
First, let's talk about the interview experience. After several weeks, I had a rush to interview dozens of students, undergraduates, and masters. Some of them were very good, and others were unsightly; in short, some people decide to hire after 3 minutes of the interview, and some people will be excluded after 2 minutes of the interview.
Although the positions for recruitment are related to software development and testing, they are found to have various majors, both computer and psychology. At the same time, they are found to be mostly master students and undergraduates. Therefore, while feeling that HR is not carefully screening resumes, I feel that my work is hard to find, and I feel that there is a world of difference between people.
When I leave the written examination, the interview process is very simple: first, I will give three to five minutes to introduce myself to the candidates, and then I will give a comprehensive quality question and answer in three to five minutes, then there were 3 to 5 minutes of technical questions, and finally asked the candidates. Although there were some discrepancies, they were basically the same;
First, let's talk about technical questions. In my opinion, most people cannot learn useful things (including myself) at school. Therefore, they do not pay much attention to how candidates answer technical questions. As a result, the answer to technical questions is complete, so the proportion in the interview results is very low;
Then there is no fixed answer to the overall quality. Unless the insights are unique, there will be extra points; otherwise, the results will not be affected, so it is not the focus;
Finally, self-introduction. In my opinion, self-introduction is the top priority, which is the key to the success of the interview for fresh graduates. Two new graduates are compared:
Freshman 1: Target Master student. At first, I told you to introduce yourself in 3 to 5 minutes. If you have time remaining, I would like to show your technical expertise. As a result, this person repeatedly stressed that you already have a resume and do not need to introduce yourself, there is a lot of potential; but in the future, it is quite disappointing: the basic concepts are unknown, simple process control statements are not completely written, and the results can only be rushed away;
Freshman 2: Target Undergraduates,ProgramSame. This person spent 5 minutes talking about his personal profile, study, internship experience, technical expertise, hobbies, and job search. The whole process was completed in one go, at this point, I decided to recommend this person to HR. Later, the technical questions were even more accurate, and I felt that such a talent would not hesitate to be hired by any company.
Self-introduction is important for many reasons:
- At least four years of learning experience can cover 3 to 5 minutes. This is both a review and a summary;
- Organized self-introductions describe the style and attitude of work;
- Comprehensive self-introduction can show the interviewer a comprehensive self from all aspects;
- A thorough self-introduction can indicate that you are responsible for yourself and pay attention to the future;
During the entire interview, I found that I could introduce myself very little. Later, the interview team saw a post on the interview process posted by a person I interviewed and hired on the Internet (the poster was particularly impressed with his self-introduction ), some people think it is too difficult to introduce themselves in five minutes. I will tell them,If you can introduce yourself well, even if the technology is not good, you will be able to do your job in the future. Because self-introduction is also a task that can be evaluated;However, the technology, relative to actual work requirements, can be used as much as the ability of new graduates (of course, some people in the interview are indeed excellent in some aspects, such people will not be buried ).
When talking nonsense, we recommend that you give new graduates a suggestion:Preparing your own briefing will benefit you a lot, including getting a job..
