GTD Tool Wunderlist Usage Summary

Objective:
has used do.it, OmniFocus, and finally chose the Wunderlist, see his expansion of strong, cross-platform, free three major advantages. Wunderlist is just a tool that is important for GTD thinking. The following sharing is my use case, there is insufficient place, welcome to point out the discussion.

I. Introduction of Wunderlist
First, make a brief introduction to Wunderlist. Wunderlist is free to support cross-platform operation. Task management software, can be run on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS system, the interface is very simple and exquisite, synchronization is very good, can be unlimited synchronization, has been updated to Wunderlist 2.3, the Chinese version.
Official website: https://www.wunderlist.com/
The interface is as follows:

Wunderlist system is very concise and simple, it is not like doit, omnifocus and other software, the software itself with GTD logic, it only the simplest collection function. To its own function, there is not too much to say, used to know, very simple.

The construction of GTD system in Wunderlist

GTD process is, collection = "Processing =" Collation = "execution =" review = "back to the collection
It is the GTD program that I have sorted out and that has been applied. Next, I share with you that the process of establishing my GTD system is the logic of building it.

The basic GTD framework built by Wunderlist is as follows:
Inbox, today (this list of tasks as GTD), Someday/maybe, Major projects

1. Inbox
Action: Have any ideas and anything you need to do, write to your Inbox right away.
My inbox, with the wunderlist on my phone, is on my computer. There are things that can be categorized right away.

2. Task List = "Today"
Role: In the processing of Inbox, 2 minutes can do things immediately to deal with, 2 minutes can not do is today's thing, put in the "Today" column below.
In the use of the time I found that there are some things have a definite time to do, for example, next Thursday to see a customer, but not suitable for someday/maybe in the column, how to do it?
So I set the "Specific Time" column, will have a definite time of the task, are placed in the specific time.

3. Project
Role: The time period is long, difficult projects independently out, highlighting the importance of.
Daily work and life, many inbox task is a project, OmniFocus inside has the function of infinite sub-task, can easily turn a task into a project, and do not have to transform the properties of the task itself, is not to change the task into a project. Wunderlist also has a similar function, but the version of the Unlimited subtasks need to pay, the free version of the subtasks do not have a deadline setting, there is no way to separate subtasks into a task.
How to solve it, I think of a compromise approach. Depending on the duration of the project and the degree of importance, decide whether to elevate the task to a separate project level.
The setup cases are as follows:
Example one, I want to become Amoy lecturer.
This is a long-term project, and is very important, involving a lot of things, a long time span. I turned him into a standalone project. See the picture "Business: Amoy Lecturer", then within the project, you can add subtasks yourself, and set the corresponding time node for each subtask.

Example two, learn evenote.
This is a short-term project, in general importance. I'll deal with it as a normal task. There can be a lot of sub-tasks under the project, see the breakdown of its items.

1), set the cut-off time. The deadline corresponds to the following sub-task, which clarifies when the subtask is to be done.
2), have the idea to write notes. See "The articles used to make notes, learn" these.

If the subtasks are complete, set a new deadline, and then tick the subtasks.

4, Someday/maybe column
Role: There will be no deadline, did not start, can do not do tasks, projects are put in, in the weeks when the review feel can be done in the next time, and then pumped out.

5, small skills to share:

1), using the name (see), simple implementation of the GTD scenario function. "Specific time" column used to set the time of things, just start my work, life all things are put together, make specific time inside is miscellaneous, not conducive to the task of finishing, I also worry wunderlist inside how there is no "scene" function. But then I divided the specific time into the work, life two columns, this type of task is clear.

2) Management of vision. The wunderlist lacks the management of the goal and the vision. For the independent project, not named by the project name, but with "business: XXXXX, cultivation Health: XXXX" to name.

Why do you name it this way? This is the essence of absorbing the omnifocus. When using OmniFocus, I will classify the project with a vision, such as "career, finance, health, life", there is an article about the vision in the ink, or see "Xiao Qiang Promotion" P111.
So named, when I was doing the project, I knew I was doing this for something.

5, review, summary of the ideas
Review is the focus of GTD and ZTD, without review, the whole process is not over. For retrospectives, Wunderlist offers two good tools.
First, the "Completed" section on the navigation bar

Second, the completed tasks under each column

Have completed the column, all the completed things are categorized. The "Completed Tasks" section under each column shows the items that are completed under this category.
My weekly review, mainly into each column under the "Completed Tasks" to see the completion of the matter, the use of found, long time down, these completed things will be very good, not conducive to review this week, so I set up a separate column, specifically to put the last week has been completed tasks.

Next week's assignment, we can find from the someday/maybe inside, and then into the project, decide what to do next week. According to the data in this week, it is clear what will happen next week.

The last is to write a simple summary, the order is. Vision goals, things to do last week, vision goals progress, what to do next week, and to what extent.

Iv. Communication of Wunderlist applications
1, the whole logic establishment process, ZTD has the idea which I apply to the wunderlist?
Ztd actually with GTD not much difference, just ztd to action more attention, let me clear the focus of work, have more time to do important things. The concept of ZTD is the function of "star project" which I use in the Wunderlist.

Take the important task and carry out the star mark. Starting a new day every day, you can see what you're focusing on today, and then most of today's focus is on doing it. One day there may be a lot of things to do, but the star is the most important thing, to complete these things, today is not a white.

2, a few important places
On the task of star-marking, it must be taken seriously, the task of star-marking is sacred, if procrastination is not completed on time, it may cause the entire GTD system to collapse, and back to the previous chaotic time.
About the review. Recalling the importance of the goal is the review, the goal is the starting point of time management, review is to let us back to the starting point, let us work life more direction and center of gravity, so must do a good review, no retrospective GTD system is not called GTD, at best is a notepad.

3. Where you are asking for help
About the next move. GTD inside is the next action, add the task with Wunderlist, and try to add the next action, but sometimes some small projects. Can not be listed separately as a separate project, placed under the "Today" column, the position seems to be not right, the current approach is to ignore it.

About add _a _comment. Under each task there is a place where you can enter content, but you don't know what to do with it.
About the method of target decomposition. Wunderlist on the decomposition of the target is not good, it is not a logical tool, I usually like to use xmind to build ideas, but there has been a problem, is my decomposition of the goal, in the logic has been very deficient in this please recommend some logic, methodological aspects of the book, send my mailbox can.
