Hidden Rules for d-link Wireless Router Installation

Recently, I have been paying close attention to the installation of d-link wireless routers. According to the introduction in the d-link Wireless Router installation quick manual, it is mainly about connection issues. As long as you are familiar with the local configuration and network connection settings, you can basically master the installation of the router.

Step 1: connect the d-link wireless router to your network

1. First, insert the 12 v ac power Adapter Connector installed on the d-link wireless router into the power Jack of the rear panel of the DI-524M, and the other end is connected to the power outlet. When Power is on, the Power indicator on the front panel is on. Wait until the DI-524M is started.

2. Connect the network line connecting to the DSL/Cable Modem to the wan end of the DI-524M, that is, the Internet port ).

3. Connect the network cables connected to the computer or other devices to the LAN ~ 4 ports) any port. After the connection settings are complete, the panel light installed on the d-link wireless router should be:
◆ Power indicator light: hengliang;
◆ System status indicator light: flashes every second;
◆ WAN port indicator light: flashing occasionally;
◆ Wireless network indicator light: flickering from time to time;

4. Place the computer with the wireless network card installed around the d-link Wireless Router installation, wireless network card and DI-524M wireless network settings, please refer to the instructions in later sections.

Step 2: connect other computers to the d-link Wireless Router

With other ethernet cables, connect other computers with Ethernet interfaces that require access through the DI-524M Wireless Broadband Router to the remaining three lanports on the rear panel of the DI-524M; you can also place a computer with a wireless Nic installed around the DI-524M to access the Internet through it.

After connecting the router according to the above two steps, your current network architecture should be the way, or if you are a residential area to be wide, may directly connect the network cable to the wan end of the DI-524M, instead of accessing the Modem, a wired PC is connected to one of the LAN ports of the DI-524M, and a wireless PC is connected to the DI-524M wirelessly through a wireless Nic connected to the computer.

Step 3: When configuring the local connection, connect the PC to one of the LAN ports installed on the d-link Wireless Router through the network cable)

1. First, check the IP address of your computer's local connection.
◆ On the desktop of your computer, right-click "Network neighbors" and select "properties ". The "network connection" window is displayed.

◆ In the next pop-up "Local Connection Properties" dialog box, select Internet protocol TCP/IP), and then click the attribute button below. In the window that will be opened later, select "automatically obtain IP Address", click OK, and then return to the previous interface and click Close. When your computer is connected to the DI-524M, the computer automatically gets the IP address.

2. Wait about 15 seconds. When the local connection shows that the connection is connected, click Start-run, Enter cmd in open, and click OK. Enter the MS-DOS Command Prompt window, type ping 192.168.0.1 and press Enter. Assume that "Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes = 32 time" is displayed.
