How does Word Add line numbers? Methods are as follows:
The first step is to open the Word document and select the view → page command to set the current document to page mode. This is important, and other models do not see this effect.
The second step is to select the paragraph in the open Word document that you want to add the line number with the mouse.
Note: You do not need this step if you want to add line numbers to the entire article, or if you want the line number to be automatically added during the entry of the article.
Third , select the page Setup command under the File menu, open the Page Setup dialog box, and click the Layout tab.
Step Fourth , on the Layout tab, locate the bottom Preview Settings section, and select entire document or selected text on your own request in the Apply to option.
Note: If you do not select any text in the document, the selected text item does not appear.
Step Fifth , click the Line Number button below to show the Line Number Setup dialog box. First select the Add line number check box, and then set the start number and line number intervals according to your requirements. where "from body" is used to set the distance between the line number and its body; Numbering options, select whether to renumber per page, renumber per section, or continuous numbering, and then click the Confirm button to exit the line number setting.
Step Sixth , click the Confirm button to exit the page setting. At this point you will see that the line number appears on the left side of the body.
