How to efficiently run Ubuntu in Virtual PC

I have tried many ways to solve the efficiency problem of ubuntu 6.10 running in VPC. Many linuxer users say that users who play Linux OS in virtual machines are quite familiar with Linux OS, but many of them must be like me. Most of their work needs to be done in windows, my vs is running on Windows, and SQL Server is also running. Even Vista is rarely installed on me. I don't think I will make this decision if I install it exactly once.

I don't know if anyone can write an addition for VPC, or let everyone fall in love with Ubuntu through VPC, Because ubuntu is really good!
