The method is simple: by clicking the preferances command on the File menu and selecting the General item, a dialog box pops up. Click the Reset Palette locations to Default button in the dialog box. At this point you will find that all of Photoshop's panels (including the toolbox) will revert to the default location.
3. Restore environment settings
When using Photoshop, some friends like to set up their own Photoshop environment. In some cases, we need to restore the Photoshop default environment settings.
PHOTOSHOP5.5 's environment parameter settings are saved in an Adobe Photoshop 5.5 prefs.psp file. To recover the default settings for Photoshop, simply delete the file. The next time you start, Photoshop will set the system environment with the default parameters and revert to the state of the first startup after installation. When you exit Photoshop, it also creates a new Adobe Photoshop 5.5 prefs.psp file to save the current settings.
The Adobe Photoshop 5.5 prefs.psp file is saved in the Adobe\photoshop 5.5\adobe Photoshop 5.5 Settings directory.
The Photoshop5.0 environment parameter settings file is "Adobe Photoshop 5 PREFS.PSP", and the path is adobe\photoshop 5.5\adobe Photoshop 5.0 settings\.
