Computers are still complicated. Especially in some usage scenarios. Just like the question we will discuss next. For example, the Win2000 Telnet service cannot start this confusing problem. The author of this article, icech, used Telnet in UNIX, but the Win2000 Telnet service cannot start the service and starts to start the Telnet service in "Computer Management"-"service, but using telnet icech here icech is my computer name) There is always No Logon prompt, error, error! Alas ~ No way. Find the information. I found the answer on several websites related to hackers and security. Here is a brief introduction to icech. why is the Telnet service still unavailable? The reason is that Win2000 comes with the Telnet service in the system, but uses the identity authentication mechanism ntlmnt lan manager in the NT4 era ). the default Win2000 Telnet server uses NTLM authentication to log on, but the Telnet client cannot pass this authentication. therefore, you must disable authentication in Win2000.

There are two solutions:

1. Modify the registry.

Icech suggests that you forget it if you are not familiar with the Registry. We will not introduce it here.

2. Use the Tlntadmn command.

This is the Telnet server management utility, which is used to modify the telnet settings on the console. icech first introduces the use, the article finally gives a detailed introduction to NTLM and TLNTADMN.

Click Start, click run, and then click tlntadmn.exe. If you cannot open the Telnet Server Management Utility, you may need to install the administration tool package ).
