We knew that MS Windows Live launched the custom domains service, specifically: If you have a domain name, Microsoft can provide free email hosting services for your domain; the day before yesterday, I accidentally thought that a www.jb51.net domain name I had applied for had been idle, so I wanted to register for a trial. The procedure was successful!
1. log on to domains.live.com. If you have not registered the website, register it first;
2. Click "add domain" to go to the next step;
3. Enter your domain name, for example, www.jb51.net;
4. the DNS configuration step appears, with the focus: [the MX Server address will be provided below]
MX Server: * .pamx1.hotmail.com
TTL: 3600 or 1 hour
Priority: 10 (or "high" priority)
5. open another window and log on to your domain name management page,
6. Click "mydns;
7. Find "Add new email record" under the mail exchange Record (MX"
Domain Name: jb51.net
Target Host: * .pamx1.hotmail.com
TTL: 3600
Submit;
8. Go back to the previous domains.live.com page and click "Update Now. If OK, the following message is displayed:
Your service is active
Your DNS configuration is correct
9. Click "member account" on the left side. You can create any number of email accounts in the domain based on your needs. The name is personalized.
I added two to myself, one being: admin@jb51.net used to log on to Live Messenger;
10. Use the account you just added to activate it by logging on to www.hotmail.com!
In addition, you can use the new "open membership" function. Any Internet user can create an email account in your domain through your website. [The most important thing is to set it in settings.]
Want to try a new version of email service? You can send up to 40 email invitations to try a new Windows Live Mail beta.
