Htmlspecialchars function in PHP returns an empty string after passing in the Chinese variable value

$a = $_get[' t '];var_dump ($a); echo "Then ...
 
 "; $b = Htmlspecialchars ($a); Var_dump ($b);

http://localhost/test.php?t= Chinese Characters

The output is as follows:

String (8) "Chinese characters" then ....

String (0) ""

The third parameter of Htmlspecialchars is encoding

$b = htmlspecialchars($a,ENT_QUOTES,'UTF-8');

That should be fine.


