informix7. X Installation Guide

Since informix5.x, Informix has launched a new generation of database engine online dynamic server Dynamics services, generally referred to as Online7.x,online is a relational data management (RDBMS), its task is to provide a storage, Retrieval, modification and deletion of data environment, its goal is to make multiple physical CPUs and a large number of memory computer to create high-performance and high stability of the operating environment, so online7.x widely used in banking, insurance, telecommunications, posts and telecommunications, and other departments for speed and security higher.

I. Installation of Informix7.30

1. Establishment of Infomix group and Informix users

1 log in as root user

2 using the Scoadmin System command to create a group named "Informix", the user named "Infomix", whose "Home directory" defaults to "/usr/informix", where I use the default value.

2. Installation of products

1 to the Informix user login system, edit. Profile Required Environment variables:

Informixdir=/usr/informix

informixserver= server name (e.g. mzd2002)

Onconfig= Profile Name (for example, onconfig.mzd2002)

ld_library= $INFORMIX/lib: $INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql

Path= $INFORMIX/bin: $INFORMIX/lib: $PATH

Export informixdir informixserver ONCONFIG PATH ld_library

Note: The two most important parameters here are Informixserver and onconfig files (stored under $INFORMIXDIR/ETC).

4 log in as root and insert SQL CD

# mount/dev/cd0/mnt

# tar Xvf/mnt/sql. TAR

#./installsql

Enter the serial number provided by the license, such as: inf#xxxxxxx

Enter the key provided by the license: such as AAABBB

Note must be uppercase

# unmount/mnt

Insert 4GL Disc

# mount/dev/cd0/mnt

# tar Xvf/mnt/4gl. TAR

#./INSTALL4GL

# unmount/mnt

Insert IDS7.30 Disc

# mount/dev/cd0/mnt

# cpio–icvudmb</mnt/server/ids. Cpi

#./installserver

# unmount/mnt

Note: Install the tool software first, install the server later, install the lower version first, then install the high version, and install it under root.
