Is the brain really essential? Does "Brainless person" really exist? How do they remember to think?

Is your brain really essential? My seemingly absurd question is one of John Lorber, a professor of neurology at the University of Sheffield, England.
When field's campus doctor was dealing with a student in a mathematics department, he found the student's head was a little bigger than normal people. The doctor introduced the student to Professor Lorber for further examination.
This student is very intelligent in his studies. He has a 126 IQ and will soon graduate. When he scanned him with CAT, Lorber found that he had no brain at all.
Generally, the two cerebral hemisphere is filled with a skull cavity, which is 4.5 cm thick, but this student only has less than 1mm thick brain tissue covering the top of the spine. This student suffers from hydrocephalus, that is, the cerebrospinal fluid does not flow in the brain but enters the blood flow, because it is blocked.
Generally, this disease is fatal for a month's baby. Even if he or she survive, it is also a serious disability. But somehow, the field student had a very normal life and was about to get a math degree soon. Undoubtedly, this is quite rare. In 1970, a 35-Year-Old New York died. Although he did not achieve any academic achievement at the end of his studies, he was engaged in some physical work jobs, such as building residents and a popular character in his neighbors. The tenants of the house he once worked on described him as if he had been doing his routine chores, such as managing boilers and Reading tabloids. An autopsy to uncover the cause of his early death found that he did not actually have any brain tissue. Professor Lorber has identified hundreds of very small people in the cerebral hemisphere who are visually intelligent. He described some of these people as "invisible brains", but they were able to earn 120 in the iqtest.
No one knows why these people with "invisible brains" are fully functional and even graduated from the mathematics department alone, but there are still two theories that seem to be able to explain this phenomenon. One idea is that a normal brain has a high degree of functional redundancy, and a bit of residue can also represent the loss of the two cerebral hemisphere.
Another interesting thing related to Lorber's findings is that it reminds us of the mysteries of our memories. First of all, there must be some material basis for memory in the brain, just like storage chips in computers. However, a large amount of research on the brain reveals a surprising fact that memory does not exist in any area of the brain or in a special (photosensitive film) material. A well-known neuroscientist said, "memories are everywhere in the brain ." But if the brain doesn't distinguish and store experiences and analyze them to make us live, why does the brain exist? Where is human intelligence? Where is the spirit?
There are still a small number of scientists trying to come up with a radical new theory to explain these issues, among which there is a Dr Rupert Sheldrake. In his book "A new science of life", Sheldrake rejects the idea that the brain is a repository of memories. He points out that the brain is more like a radio tuned to the past. The brain is not a storage process that changes the media to record information. It is more like a storage process that uses morphic resonance ?) Travel from process to past. For a warehouse that stores and traces the data of a lifetime, this radio only requires a very small and very complex structure.
