A common frame layout uses a fixed navigation frame to display content frames on different pages. Similarly, placing calls to external JavaScript files on always-displayed pages (framework set pages) makes sense, so that you do not have to repeat this call in every possibly displayed page.
The function used in the following example allows many pages to share a function. This function returns a random advertisement bar image.
