Manually install Sun JDK in ubuntu10.04

Install Sun JDK manually.

 

Download JDK *. Bin

 

Sudo chmod + x JDK *. Bin

./JDK *. Bin

 

 

Modify/etc/profile

 
 
Sudo gedit/etc/profile: Export java_home =/opt/jdk1.6.0 _ 20 export Path = $ java_home/bin: $ java_home/JRE/bin: $ pathexport classpath = $ classpath :.: $ java_home/lib: $ java_home/JRE/lib and then update source/etc/profile

Then modify the default Java

Update-alternatives -- install/usr/bin/Java/usr/lib/JVM/Java/jdk1.6.0 _ 12/bin/Java 300
Update-alternatives -- install/usr/bin/javac/usr/lib/JVM/Java/jdk1.6.0 _ 12/bin/javac 300
