I have seen many posts in the forum asking me about problems with the installation of XP in ASUS and HP laptops! I will summarize it with my own practices!
1. Asus Notebook
Enter the BIOS in the Asus Notebook and go to advanced> ide configuration> SATA operation.
Select compatible in mode. Different models may be different.
The next step is relatively simple. You can install either the installation version or the ghostversion. However, it should be noted that there is a problem with the rain and wood wind and the depth of the ghost System in the Asus Notebook, as shown in, there is no problem with the image. After the image is restarted, there will be a blue screen. I have tried several models of Asus laptops using different versions of the two forums, there is no problem with the ghostversion or the computer company and its modified version of luobjiayuan. Don't ask me why, I don't know, but I tried it.
2. HP notebook
HP notebook is quite troublesome! Because HP and Microsoft have protocols, after Vista is released, all new models are pre-installed with the Vista system or have no system. If you want to convert it into an XP system, no matter how you set it in the bios, no matter which forum system you use, no matter whether you use the installation version or ghostversion, all the blue screens cannot be installed! Only one solution is to downgrade the BIOS version!
Many new HP laptops can see the f26 version in the BIOS. The XP system can be installed only when it is reduced to f13, some people may use the press F7 key to skip the power check to install XP according to the blue screen prompt, but there are several defects after installation:
1. There are two devices with a yellow exclamation mark, Floppy Drive and ich8 2843;
2. the wireless network card can be equipped with a driver but cannot find a wireless network;
3. The instance cannot be shut down normally.
Of course, the f13 BIOS is not perfect, although the driver can be installed smoothly, there is no problem with F7 installation method, but the sound card and modem driver need to be installed forcibly, after the installation, the Speaker and the headset will sound at the same time, and the microphone cannot be used. Then, the fan of the machine will keep spinning, but it is better than the F7 method!
If you don't care about the fan sound, you don't need headphones! The method to downgrade the BIOS version to f13 is quite good!
BiOS address of f13 and F21:
F13: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36501-37000/sp36745.exe
F21: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37915.exe
After numerous netizens have been cutting corners, HP finally released a modified version of sound card driver in February 18. I tested this driver myself, the problem of simultaneous speaker and microphone unavailability can be solved.
Driver address:
Http://www.jszgfood.com/sound.zip
Note: The installation of the sound card driver must be forced before installation.
In this way, the problem is only the fan crazy turn, and after a long wait, finally in April 27 HP released a very low-key version of bios, F2a, specifically for the problem that XP cannot be modified! After my tests, I solved the fan crazy problem! At the same time, it also solved the problem that the drivers of the above three models do not need to brush the BIOS to modify XP. So far, in addition to the new dv3000 series, other models of machines can be converted to XP perfectly.

Just yesterday, HP released the f2b version of bios again. After reading the HP, I finally followed the public opinions! ^_^!

To sum up, if you are buying a new HP notebook and want to install the XP system, first download the f2b bios. After the update, go to this website: download the XP driver of the corresponding model from www.benber.com and you will be able to install Ghost and the installation version!
PS: I have personally encountered and successfully solved the above problems with Asus Notebook and HP notebook. Due to the limited model of notebook, I have 3 ASUS and 7 HP notebook, I cannot guarantee that all models comply with the above rules. The laptops of other brands have only sporadic access to Samsung, IBM, Lenovo, and Sony, and they are still smooth. They are not as hard as ASUS and HP!
