It is difficult to clarify the relationship between various functions of Windows APIs. MFC only uses Abstract, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism and Modular object-oriented principles to logically classify windows APIs.

Class Libraries with high abstraction levels and many virtual functions generate large and slow applications. To ensure a faster speed and a smaller size, the afx development team has invented other mechanisms to process Windows messages. MFC maintains flexibility without a large number of virtual functions.
