Microsoft vulnerabilities, users' pain points!

During this time, Windows XP users are looking forward to the arrival of SP2, the second patch package of XP, the most secure operating system, once hailed by Microsoft for more than two years after its release, is already so fragile. Is this the XP that once made us ecstatic about it? Why does Microsoft propose XP reload (reinstallation) to arouse users' enthusiasm for XP?

Someone once said: Microsoft's system will become stable only after two patch packages are made. Let's not judge the correctness of this statement. simply look at the facts. Windows 2000 will still be attacked by Sasser after SP4. Obviously, for a system with 10 million lines of code, it is unrealistic to have good security and stability after several patch packages are released. Friends who have programming experience may know that it is not so easy to maintain a program with thousands of lines of code. What's more, it is a huge guy with tens of millions of lines of code? Of course, windows is not written by a single user. Microsoft has many program teams to write the operating system, but this raises another question: how to organically combine these codes, how can a programmer maintain the code written by his predecessor? This is not an easy task. Take code maintenance as an example. Before you release a patch, you must first perform a rigorous test on the patch system to ensure compatibility and stability. Simply put, this requires a lot of investment. In addition, there is another potential problem, that is, fixing a vulnerability may lead to another error. This is a difficult issue to control when writing a program. Do you still remember Microsoft's patch 328310? After this patch is installed, the user's operating system will generate some new errors, so Microsoft has to release a new patch to solve the sequelae of this patch. This is why many software companies do not want to patch their own software. However, Microsoft is doing this, and their attitude alone is worthy of recognition.

Microsoft competitors often use Windows vulnerabilities to laugh at Microsoft. Is their system truly so secure? In fact, this is not exactly the case. Someone from abroad has done tests. The test results show that the security of other operating systems except UNIX is not satisfactory in common operating systems. But why do we often hear security attacks targeting Microsoft? By default, open-source systems like Linux are more vulnerable to attacks. As long as you carefully analyze the source code, it is not difficult for hackers to find a vulnerability. However, we know that most hackers write Trojans and viruses for the purpose of being well-known and showing strength, and attacking a large number of users of Windows is the best way to achieve the goal. A virus that attacks Linux will never attract the world's attention like a shock wave. Speaking of apple, their Mac system won't go anywhere. Today, isn't apple just patching his system? The vulnerabilities repaired by these patches were discovered last month.

Imagine if Microsoft patched windows at the speed Apple fixed the vulnerability? Microsoft always reminds users to install patches in a timely manner, but some users only think of patching, installing or upgrading anti-virus software after being attacked. Since no matter how users complain, vulnerabilities in the operating system will still be discovered from time to time, why are we not looking for our own reasons? Why are we not updating patches?

Having said so much, I don't really want to name Microsoft. I just hope that you will be able to cope with security attacks in the future and patch your system's vulnerabilities in a timely manner, avoid data loss. Of course, I also hope that windows will be more secure and stable, so that we can safely use it, instead of worrying about security vulnerabilities all day long.
